see Philippines Introduction page
Money:
Exchange booths open to 10pm each day. Equitable Bank does cash advances on Visa and Mastercard.
ATM teller machines are common in Manila and in many cities throughout the Philippines. Many will connect to your home account as well as give advances on the major Credit Cards.
Travelers Cheques can be cashed at banks of course if there are no machines.
Coming & Going:
Air. see Philippines Air Travel page for all flight details.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport is the only one. Domestic and International terminals are a distance apart. Only set fare taxis are allowed to use the airport. To Ermita should cost about P80. Prices to Pasay P350, Makati P350, Quezon City P380.
Getting Around:
Bus. Plenty of cheap buses going everywhere. You need to know destinations though. Many bus companies operate to destinations outside Manila, but all from their own terminals, there is no central station.
Jeepney. Cheap and plentiful. Again, its best to know where you are going.
Rail. Metrorail is good and cheap if it suits your destination.
Taxi. Are all supposed to metered. be prepared for attempted rip-offs. get an idea of the cost from someone else before hiring one.

A Metrorail Train gets you to Makati City or the huge shopping centres in Ortigas or you can take a bus along the Epifanio de Los Santos Ave. (EDSA) ring road which goes from Pasay City in the south to Cubao in the north-east.

There are some beaches north of Olongapo, but they are not the best in the Philippines.
