books which unfortunately show the colonial attitude to the Burmese.
Look for them at the second hand footpath stalls in Rangoon.
- The Glass Palace Chronicle of the Kings of Burma translated by Pe Maung Tin and G.H.Luce. Published for the Burma
Research Society by The Oxford University Press, 1923. Second
printing by Rangoon University Press, Rangoon, 1960.
The 'official' history of Burma comissioned by king Bagyidaw in
1829. Using previous chronicles as reference they tried to make
an accurate story. Some pretty fantastic stories.
